Abda Ltd in Northwich is increasing its reputation in Cheshire. Having featured in Cheshire Life in the “top ten coffee spots in Cheshire”, a finalist in “Cafe of the Year 2023” and featuring in the Indy Coffee Guide 2023 as one of the top coffee shops in the North West...we have become known for our great coffee!
All of our coffee is speciality, grade A coffee which means it is the highest grade of coffee in the world!
Our roasters also work directly with the coffee farmers in each country of origin, meaning our coffee is more ethically sourced than Fairtrade, and the machinery used to roast is the most environmentally friendly roaster on the market.
We also serve a whole host of cultural experiential drinks originating from all over the world, inspired by Abda’s Afro-Arab culture and her travels.
We pride ourselves in only serving the best quality drinks.
Our Abda Alchemists calibrate our machine and grinder daily to ensure our Espressos weigh 16g and extract between 25-30 seconds and our Ristrettos weigh 18g and extract at roughly 20 seconds - the best way to enjoy our rich, smooth and naturally sweet House Blend.

We also steam our dairy milk to between 50-60°C and our alternative milks (almond, coconut, oat and soya) to 40°C - because nobody likes burnt milk!
Abda found that in every country she has visited, she could see the culture’s heart and soul reflected in the countries’ food and drink.
Both our food and drinks menus reflect this and bring a number of cultures under one roof. Our 'Cultural Experiential Drinks' showcase drinks from all around the world, served authentically and in line with the culture from which they originate, and our food menu features authentic Sudanese and Egyptian dishes that Abda and her family enjoy at home.

Here at Abda, we refer to our Baristas as 'Abda Alchemists'. Why? - because they do so much more than just make coffee! We are incredibly particular about the products we serve, every cup of coffee must weigh a specific amount and extract for a certain amount of time, dependent on the type of coffee!
We aim to create the cocktails of the coffee world - substituting the alcohol for coffees and teas.
Abda is our owner, of both ‘Abda’ and ‘Hala’ and is the heart and soul of what we do. She has taken both customers and staff under her wing and has created a space and community where everyone feels welcome, included, and appreciated. She has truly created another home and family for us all.
Originating from Sudan, Abda is a linguist speaking four languages (English, Arabic, Spanish and Italian) and has travelled to and lived in multiple countries across the world. This has brought a cultural influence and theme to both businesses, showcasing flavours and recipes from several different cultures, families, and friends. This influences a lot of the flavours we create, ingredients we use, recipes we cook, interior decor of the shop, the way we work closely together and the values we hold as a business, team and family.
‘Abda’ started as ‘Ab’s Bakery’, focusing on cultural fusion baking before branching into her other passion: Coffee. ‘Abda’ opened in May 2018 and has since grown into a cultural coffee hub and community.
Sophie is our Baker and Head of R&D and Social Media. She joined the ‘Abda’ family in 2018 and is now continuing her journey to Hala alongside her responsibilities at ‘Abda’. Soph has a passion for baking and over the years has developed the skills to specialise in baking/catering for allergies and specific dietary requirements, including
Sophie is our Baker and Head of R&D and Social Media. She joined the ‘Abda’ family in 2018 and is now continuing her journey to Hala alongside her responsibilities at ‘Abda’. Soph has a passion for baking and over the years has developed the skills to specialise in baking/catering for allergies and specific dietary requirements, including gluten-free and vegan.
As her little brother has multiple allergies, Soph has been baking from a young age and has been able to bring her understanding of catering for allergies safely into the team. With allergies in most of our families, we are passionate about producing food which is safe and delicious for everybody to enjoy. Soph has spent the last 3 years of her time with us developing and perfecting our allergy-friendly recipes, with her carrot cake building up quite a reputation!
Soph also has a background in and passion for photography, she runs all our social media accounts and photographs the shops, food/drinks, retail and events as well as designing our social media campaigns, adverts and menus. She curates ideas from the team, creating food and drinks menus that include a little bit of all of us.
Lorri joined us in August 2021 and swiftly showed her talent for producing beautiful food.
She is now our Kitchen and Stock Manager and can be found in our kitchen whipping up all the loaded toasts, salads and grilled cheese on toasts you all know and love!

With over 10 years of experience, her customer service and understanding of the world of hospitality has been a huge benefit to the business.
Her talents do not stop there, with experience in social media marketing and web design, our collective strengths just keep on increasing.
Lorri’s natural aptitude for organisation and consistency meant she quickly adapted to her role as Kitchen and Stock Manager and works closely with Sophie to guarantee the menu and food quality is always to the highest standard.
